Application Specialist
The Application Specialist is responsible for testing, troubleshooting, and updating the internal apps, automations, and workflows Power Plus Systems develops, making sure each one is reliable, easy to use, and ready for rollout. This role works closely with the Operations Manager and Data Specialist, partners with the Process Specialist to make sure every new application or update process is documented before rollout, and collaborates with Admin Operations, Scheduling, Finance, Estimating, and Field teams to find issues before team members do and turn feedback into improvements. The ideal candidate has a software development background, hands-on experience using Claude and other AI tools, a working knowledge of webhooks and integrations, and a strong eye for user interface and user experience design.
Pay Range: $8 per hour based on experience with a performance review scheduled after 90 days of employment. We believe in rewarding exceptional talents.

Objectives:
- Test company apps, automations, and workflows before rollout to confirm they work as intended across devices, browsers, and real-world scenarios.
- Perform manual testing and support automated testing to catch bugs, broken logic, and edge cases early.
- Troubleshoot issues reported by team members, identify the root cause, and coordinate fixes with the Operations Manager and Data Specialist.
- Test and monitor webhooks and integrations between systems such as GoHighLevel, Make, monday.com, Claude, Jotform, and other company platforms to ensure data passes correctly.
- Review apps from the user's point of view and recommend and implement UI and UX improvements that make tools easier, faster, and clearer for team members.
- Use Claude and other AI tools to speed up test case creation, debugging, documentation, and app updates.
- Apply approved updates and improvements to existing apps and workflows, then retest to confirm nothing else broke.
- Work with the Process Specialist to make sure every new application or update process is documented before rollout, and maintain test checklists and release notes so every rollout is consistent and repeatable.
Competencies:
- Solid understanding of software development concepts, including front-end and back-end logic, APIs, and how data moves between systems.
- Hands-on experience using Claude and other AI tools in daily work, with the judgment to verify AI output before relying on it.
- Working knowledge of webhooks, including how to read payloads, interpret response codes, and troubleshoot failed connections.
- Familiarity with manual and automated testing methods, test cases, and regression testing for apps and workflows.
- Strong eye for design with a clear understanding of user interface (UI) and user experience (UX) principles.
- Analytical, detail-oriented approach to finding root causes rather than surface-level fixes.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical issues to non-technical team members.
- Ability to manage multiple testing and update projects at once while meeting rollout deadlines.
- Comfort using browser developer tools and automation platforms such as Make or Zapier is a plus.
- Construction, electrical, or trade-industry experience is a plus.
Education and Experience:
- Background in software development through a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience.
- At least 2 years of experience in software development, QA testing, application support, or a related role.
- Experience testing web apps, mobile apps, or automated workflows before release.
- Experience working with webhooks, APIs, or system integrations.
- Proven experience using Claude or other AI tools in a professional setting.
- Experience with UI/UX design, design reviews, or tools such as Figma is a plus.
- Experience with GoHighLevel, Make, monday.com, Claude, or similar business platforms is a plus.
Equipment Requirements:
- Computer or laptop capable of running multiple browsers, testing tools, and collaboration platforms at the same time.
- Smartphone for testing mobile versions of company apps.
- Stable and reliable internet connection for online operations and virtual communication.
Physical Requirements:
- Extended periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
